Yogurt with Custom Probiotics powder

Hello everyone,

I had been making goats milk yogurt with Yogourmet packets. I have

been having problems with diary (even goats milk cheese) so I have cut

out all dairy except the yogurt. (I tried to cut out yogurt, but my

yeast overgrowth issues started up again and the supplement

acidophilus did not seem to work for me.) My yogurt with Yogourment

was tart, but I ended up really enjoying the flavor. I wanted to try

yogurt without any trace of cow dairy so I purchased the Custom

Probiotics starter since the GI Prohealth was on back order. The

probiotic strains are the same, but....

1) it tastes kinda funny, almost like sour cream gone bad. I had to

add some honey to tolerate it. Is it normal for this yogurt to taste

different because it is a different company? Do you think I just have

to get used to this flavor? I kinda thought it would taste the same.

I never had a problem with making my yogurt, so I don't think I made

it different.

2) The amount of Custom Probiotic powder was a LOT less than the

Yogourmet and the bottle seems like it's almost empty. Maybe I didn't

mix it well enough either? But all the yogurt tasted the same.

3) The yogurt seems to help a lot more than hurt me but could it be

causing damage (or inflammation) if I am not tolerating any dairy?

4) Maybe this starter is more potent. I'm also thinking I might be

going through more detox right now as well and think I need to cut the

amount of yogurt and work up to what I was eating.

Thanks for your replies.
