Guest guest
I just bought acidophilus on-line and can kick myself for not being more careful finding out about the content. It is made from Natren and includes organic chick pea extract and dehydrated potato powder. Obviously it is illegal, and I guess no one can see if I can or cannot eat it, but has anyone else used an illegal if in small amounts, and seen no ill effects? Does a small amount wreck whatever healing is going on? Cecilia
Guest guest
Hi I am certainly not an expert but with these small things I can tell that sometimes its individual. By that I mean I can not tolerate the lyosan brand of acidolphilus that is legal, it goes right through me, I can not tolerate swiss cheese that is also legal. So with that being said I think the same can go for some illegal things as well, I would not eat a bowl of oatmeal but would I try natren ...yes...and I have taken it and I tolerated it far better than the lyosan one.Like I said I am not an expert and really try to follow this plan at 100% b/c it makes me feel better but everyone is different so you might be able to do well with this brand. Good luck Suzanne'IBS & diverticulosis how bad is it to small amount of illegal if symptom free? To: BTVC-SCD > I just bought acidophilus on-line and can kick myself for not > being more > careful finding out about the content. Guest guest
Yes, everyone is different...I find that I seem to tolerate illegals at first, but after a while (especially if the illegals continue, not like a one-time instance,) my symptoms slowly return, and soon enough I'm in a flare. Back to SCD. I have a love/hate relationship with this diet My recommendation is that if you want to stay symptom free, just don't risk it. Find a friend or family member that wants to try using probiotics, and see if they are willing to buy it from you -- I usually pawn all my non-SCD vitamins/supplements off to my husband, so I don't feel so bad having spent the money without checking ingredients (and RECHECKING, too -- one of my biggest mistakes was when the manufacturer of my vitamin E changed formulas and started using carob -- UGH!) SCD on and off for 2.5 yrs CD 25+ yrs, ileostomy 4 yrs med-free (but not quite symptom free)
