Welcome to the world of a high school teacher. Up until this year, I caught every single thing the kids had, and could almost predict when I would get what, depending on which kids I had worked with. I don't know what's different this year, but I haven't had a single thing so far(except a big fat headache from the craziness that accompanies winter break).

Subject: Now I know what "immunosuppressant" really means

I went out to work on a friend's computer on Thursday, and she didn't tell be her husband had a cold. Now I have it. I "knew" that the MTX would make me more susceptable to illness, but I didn't really realize just HOW susceptable. I have always been very resistant to the common cold. I haven't had a cold in thirty years! Now it has nailed me in three days. I have been taking Zicam. Hope it helps.Sharon

Fortunately the Zicam seems to work the way it is advertised. In about 12 hours

the sore throat was gone, and after 24 hours I just have a little head

congestion and a very little chest congestion. Several friends swore by it and

I figured I didn't have anything to lose by trying it. I started the nasal spray

as soon as my throat got scratchy. Next time, though I think I will buy the

swabs instead of the spray.
