If you intend to use this as a supplement the unrefined virgin is the way to go. The product that is touted the most is Garden of Life Virgin coconut oil, but it is not necessary as long as you get the non refined virgin type. You would want that type, if you are trying to get the following benefits: Improving Symptoms of Digestive Disorders medium-chain fatty acids (for healthy fatty acids) antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fungal Properties So, it depends on what you want to accomplish with the oil. Guest guest
, Thanks for your response. We've decided to purchase the Coconut Cream Concentrate from Tropical Traditions, and buy coconut oil locally (I've now found some unrefined Spectrum) or with my Digestive Wellness order (Omega Nutrition brand). The TT brand of oil was more expensive and since we've just spent rather a lot on bison meat from Blackwings, I had to draw the line somewhere! I will now always go for 'refined' though, since wants it for the reasons you mention, and also to help him gain weight. Guest guest
Lesley, Just wanted to point out that the coconut creme concentrate is super advanced- the coconut oil is much more tolerable although some people report die-off when first starting it since it is a natural anti-fungal. Slow and Steady if you guys haven't done the oil yet- and be extra cautious with the concentrate. Just my 2 cents. Guest guest
Thanks for flagging that up for us Jodi. has occasionally tried the oil and seemed ok with it (although it's sometimes difficult to tell because he's still having days when he has CD symptoms despite having eaten nothing new at all). I'll tell him to go very slow with the coconut creme concentrate.
