Guest guest
Thank you very much Kris!!! Yes, I can honestly say what I went thru was terrible and scary, but now I know that my family can pretty much get thru anything, and come out on the other side. I sure do plan on sticking around and being an active part of this group. I recognize a couple of names from other groups, and am looking forward to talking to new people as well. Thanks again for the welcome! Marcy in California Ü WLS 06/15/00 EDD 12/08/02 Re: Introducing myself > Welcome, Marcy! Glad you emerged from lurkdom. That's quite an inspiring > story! Guest guest
Welcome Marcy! Sandi Mesquite, TX VSRG 3-13-00 Dr. Bryce @ Pathweigh highest 350+ date of surgery 3-13-00 257 lbs. 3-13-01 185 lbs. 11-3-01 I am in my goal size 10!!! 11-26-01 OMG I AM PREGNANT!!!!!!! EDD 7/25/02 BOY!!!!!! Introducing myself Hi group of wonderful ladies, my name is Marcy. I have been lurking for a couple of months now and thought I would speak up and introduce myself. I had my lap rny June 15th, 2000, so that makes me a little over 2 years out. In April we found out we were pregnant and were very happy. I have had all the vitamin/nutritional concerns as well as the rest of you, and especially because within a couple of months of the surgery I developed complications. I had ulcers on my esophagus and couldnt keep any food or liquids down for MONTHS! The drastic weight loss, (over 100 pounds in under 4 months) left my body depleted of all nutrients and eventually effected the nerves in my system. They finally diagnosed me with nutritional poly neuropathy after three nonths in three different hospitals. At one point I had no nerve activity at all, and couldnt walk, write, feed myself, etc. It took me a good year and a half to walk again, and get out of the wheelchair. The doctors didnt think I would walk, to be honest, I didnt either. On Easter day I took steps on my own and have been walking since, although a little wobbly, I dont care as long as I am not dependent on the chair, and then shortly after Easter we found out I was pregnant, very happy time. I too had unexplained bleeding for the first trimester, I tried so hard not to get my hopes up for fear that I would miscarry, as I have had a prior miscarriage. Well after a shaky start, I am now 17 weeks and feeling the baby, and very happy and excited. I lurked for awhile and didnt speak out, because I wanted to wait until I was out of danger so to speak, if that makes sense. I have loved reading your posts and laughing and crying with all of you, I think you are a WONDERFUL group of people, and I look forward to getting to know you all better. Congratulations to all of you that have had your babies, are expecting, or trying to conceive. I have an 8 year old daughter who I had when I was thinner, and I had trouble getting pregnant the two years before my surgery, so this did allow me to finally get pregnant and I am sure it was the weight that was stopping me before. Anyway sorry this is so long, I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little about me. Take care! Guest guest
Hi Nette! I posted on the OSSG - Support group when I first found out. I went back to read yesterday and someone had mentioned that you were pregnant also. How cool that we are both in here! I am excited for you, I know that you wanted another baby. How is your pregnancy going? I am due in January. I am very excited to have a baby also. It's good to hear from you!
