Hi Jodi,

I've had ear candling done. I don't know how you can do it yourself,

though. Flames close to the hair are a bit nervous-making. I don't

think it's all that effective. But I have found the Ear Clear syringe

very effective. Check it out at http://www.earclear.com/.

Safe and easy-just use in the shower.

Aussie programme a while ago ( magazine/lifestyle type programme) .

Certainly looked interesting. Basically a funnel /tube placed in the

ear with a larger opening at the other end. The practitioner lit a

small fire up the top end (well away from the ear) which created a

vacuum and the wax was gently sucked out by the vacuum. Apparently it

sounds like a volcano inside your head whilst its being done. I too

have ears that gunk -up frequently & I hate getting them done at the

doctor with the water. I believe it also poses a risk of a perforated

eardrum with the water method after repeated episodes.(Nice!!!) Maybe

somebody on the list has had some experience and will post. Would be

good to have a safe alternative.
