Guest guest
A friend of mine got diagnosed with diverticultis - she's not on SCD (yet), but her doc has her on a diet with no nuts, berries only soft well cooked veggies, no cruciferous veggies. I've been telling her to cut out sugar totally and drink lots of chicken and meat broths, since they are great natural anti-inflammatories. I'm wondering if anyone has the condition and has any info or knowledge I can share with her. TIA, Mara
Guest guest
Hi Mara I have IBS and diverticulosis for over m7 yrs and never until this past June have I ever had a diverticulitis attack.I have always been able to tolerate almonds, walnuts, pecans, but not sunflower seeds or peanut. I can eat broccoli but not too many whole green beans. The thing is when you are in an infected state liquid and extremely soft is the best way to go, I make a big pot of chicken soup w/o onions or celery I pull them out and use carrots and parsley and then puree, I eat yogurt and farmers cheese w/applesauce. Rest if a key factor and it goes away eventually! she should get on the intro diet and just try it.
