Guest guest
Hi, I'm trying really hard with SCD but I just can't seem to get past the D. Can anyone offer suggestions? I'm feeling really desperate right now. I'll explain where I'm at. I'm on day 28 of the 100% diet right now. (I actually started over 1.5 months ago, but i was taking a drug for another condition that I later learned was illegal so I've since replaced it.) In addition to the food I've been eating I also take Freeda SCD Multi and B Vitamins, Fish Oil and occasionally the Lyosan Probiotics. Foods Attempted I did the intro for a full 5 days (actually probably a bit longer) and have introduced additional foods since them. I am still stuck at Stage 1 and still not having success getting past D. All of the food I eat is prepared at home and carefully peeled, seeded and cooked for a long time. I've almost always been careful to only introduce foods one at a time and test them out for a few days to see if I get a reaction. Part of the problem is that I'm never sure if I'm getting a reaction or not because I almost always have D. I've been trying to remove the various foods in Intro/Stage one to see if one of them is causing D. My only real constant through the whole time has been the chicken soup with pureed carrots which I eat everyday and hamburger. The following items are all things I tried but have also tried removing because I thought they may cause the D: eggs, SCD yogurt, applesauce, bananas, ghee, curd, honey, welch's, ghee, green beans. Current Foods I'm currently eating the chicken soup, broiled hamburger patties, honey, curd, zucchini (peeled, seeded and well steamed), broiled fish, french cut green beans. SCD Yogurt When I was trying the yogurt I was very careful making it. I've got the yogourmet maker and use the correct yogourmet starter. I follow all the instructions through the process. I monitor the temp and make sure it's on for 24 hours. While eating the yogurt I was getting a lot of bloating, gurgling and gas so I switched to goat's milk, however that didn't hlep. I've since removed the yogurt and now I don't get very much bloating, gurgling or gas which is positive. Symptoms BM's are almost always D, either water or loose. Occasionally I'll get something a bit firm but it's rare. I usually go 1-3 times a day but sometime up to 7 or 8 and some days and very rarely not at all. My BM's often smell like ammonia which I've read it a sign of bacterial overgrowth. I keep a very detailed food log, but I still can't seem to figure out what is causing problems. Occasionally a get a tiny bit of pain in my guts, but not too bad; I don't get blood in my BM's. Any help would be much appreciated.
