Guest guest
Just the other day we were talking about strange loops, these weird paradoxes. Joan had said something about taking a course in meta-ethics, and the subject of strange loops came up. This bit of foolishment came rolling in on another list: " if a person under the age of 18 or 21 creates a site that contains material unsuitable for persons under the age of 18 or 21 - is that minor legally able to access his/her own site once it has been built? " Of course there are rational and sensible answers to this question. But I, being a bit on the mischievous side, saw it as yet another strange loop. And here come a couple of other ones from yet another list concerning the belief that God is both omnipotent and omnipresent: " IF god is omnipotent, he could, for example, commit suicide. But. THEN he would cease to exist. And if he ceased to exist, he could not be omnipresent. The reverse is also true - if omnipresent, always there at all times, then he can't be as powerful as he is cracked up to be since he would never have the freewill to choose his own fate, to decide between his own life and death. " Cheers, nz
