It's ugly...16 when last checked in June. Can't fathom it'd be much higher now.

That is why you do nto feel any better on T3. it CANNOT get to your

cells., You need high iron dosing to bring thta ferritin up so the T3

CAN work.

I'm not on T3 only therapy. I'm on NatureThroid. I guess my post was a bit

confusing. I have been on Armour then NT for 2 years now. When I went on HC, my

RT3 went up. And then when the HC was increased, the RT3 went higher.

So now I am stuck with a problem of being sick and even more hypo on NT than I

was off thyroid, but with low ferretin and inability to tolerate taking any

iron. And while it's contraindicated to take T3 only to clear the RT3 if my

ferretin is low...

I was asking what people would do if they were me and stuck like this....

would they risk trying out some T3 only or would that be worse than being on NT

which I can't covert?

I'm no expert on this, but from what I've read the RT3 won't clear if you are on

anything with T4 in it, including the desicated thyroid. If I was in your shoes

I think I would stop the NT (I don't know how, you might need to do it slowly).

And try the T3 and the HC.

Then find an iron supplement that you can take. You might try Floradix, it

didn't upset my stomach and was easy to take. It's a liquid, but I don't think

it tasted to bad, tolerable. I got it from vitacost.com, others probably carry

it to. I don't know for sure how effective it is in raising the ferritin level,

my doctor refused to check my ferritin level after I took it. Maybe someone

else here has more experience with it. From what others have said in other

posts it doesn't sound possible to correct the RT3 issue if you don't correct

the ferritin level.

You might also check out the FB group associated with the

www.stopthethyroidmadness.com site. I found it very helpful to read others'

posts, questions, and stories about how they are doing. You could also post the

same question there as well and see what kind of an answer you get. Hopefully

in one of these groups others with more knowledge will answer your question as

well.
