Guest guest
I am not sure about other supplements, but as far as iron, you should refrain from using it for the 5 days before the blood draw. From: amyeklatt Sent: Monday, January 18, 2010 9:08 AM To: RT3_T3 Subject: Getting a Ferretin Test I am going to the endo that is listed in the "good docs" file on NTH this Weds. It will be my first time seeing someone for my thyroid/adrenals. The point of the meeting for me is to find someone who will test (and hopefully treat) my suspected RT3. I also want to get ferretin, B12, and potassium tested. Should I refrain from all multi-vitamins and supplements a few days before the tests? I know I'm not supposed to take my Thyroid-S the morning of.Will it matter if she is not doing the blood tests 'til afternoon as opposed to the usual 8 a.m.?Amy
Guest guest
>Nick, if one of the causes for my RT3 was low ferretin, but maybe that isn't a problem anymore because I have gotten it up, would it still be necessary for me to start a T3 only med? We don't know. Sometimes it's self sustaining until you can break the circle. The guaranteed way is to go T3 only for 3 months. Other ways may work but you have to give them time and they are not guaranteed. Nick
Guest guest
Thanks! Now that you say that, I remember reading it on your website. Your site has been so helpful. If my new doc is not willing to test or treat RT3, I'm going to self treat as I have been doing for two years with HC and Thyroid-S. > > >Nick, if one of the causes for my RT3 was low ferretin, but maybe that isn't a problem anymore because I have gotten it up, would it still be necessary for me to start a T3 only med? > > We don't know. Glad it helps, I felt a need to have things in one place so put it together. It will get added to when I get some more time but work is busy at the moment Nick
