Guest guest
Hi everyone, I was dx'd w/Hashi's in 5/09. Tweaking hormones since then, from levo only to NT, then to synthetic T3 a few months ago (because of NT shortage and desire to try to lose some weight). My 11/19 labs for FT3 and RT3 are: FT3 = 2.1 RT3= 254 in range of 90-350 I just had new labs done today and have appt. w/doc on 1/14 to review those results and adjust replacement hormone if necessary. Can anyone calculate my RT3 to FT3 ratio and let me know if I'm in the normal range? My doc is basically taking lots of guidance from me on my treatment but last labs from 11/19 also had my TSH at 0.01, FT4 at 0.85. I'm also taking about 1000 mg of metformin daily which I know will lower TSH, and I want the doc to understand that if my other levels are out of range, that my hormone replacement might need to be increased, even if my TSH is way low. I have lost about 12 lbs in the past 2.5 months. Thanks very much for any help/guidance you might be able to provide. Therese
Guest guest
FT3 = 2.1 RT3= 254 in range of 90-350 Your ratio is 2100/254= 8.26 so yea oyu have a HUGE RT3 problem as it needs to be at least 20 or higher. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
okey doke, Val, thanks. Now, when I see my doc, who really doesn't know much about being hypo, how do I convince her that we need to do something, and what, exactly, do you think the course of action should be? Change/increase T3? If so, by how much? I still don't understand the effects of having an RT3 problem -- I understand that I have too much RT3, but what are the effects/symptoms of too much? How is the problem fixed? Since I'm on 25 mcg/day of synthetic T3 NOW, should I increase that to 50 mcg/day? Thanks a lot, Therese To: RT3_T3 Sent: Sat, January 9, 2010 5:25:02 PMSubject: Re: New Member - need help with deciphering RT3 Ratio FT3 = 2.1RT3= 254 in range of 90-350Your ratio is 2100/254= 8.26 so yea oyu have a HUGE RT3 problem as it needs to be at least 20 or higher.-- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WVhttp://www.stopthet hyroidmadness. com/http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ NaturalThyroidHo rmonesADRENALS/http://health. groups.yahoo. com/group/ RT3_T3/http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/HypoPets/
