Hi

Are you writing to the group because you are not feeling well. Are you still on armour or it is a different brand?

Hi all, I am new to the forum and am doing lots and lots of reading. Was taking 4 grains for the past few years up thru June, when $$ ran out for private doc (HMO wouldn't treat). Was off thyroid completely for about 5 months, TSH (family MD didn't run any others) was 3.76 at my annual in Nov. In the last four weeks have started self medicating worked back up to 3 grains. My HMO agreed to refer me to an endo and I am waiting to see if he'll run the tests I want. Wish me luck. If he won't, I need to narrow down and run minimal tests due to $$. While on 4 grains of Armour my T3 was in the upper third of the range and T4 was usually around 0.8 with TSH suppressed to 0.01. Comments and/or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,

The numbers sound reasonable but how did you feel on that?????

I am currently taking a brand of natural thyroid called Thiroyd from an overseas

pharmacy. My temps on 3 grains are still under 98.6 average for the day, and so

far no noticable interactions that would indicate adrenal issues. I understand

that ultimately blood test will be the definitive answer. I know I am still hypo

on three grains, but just upped meds last week, and feel lots better than

unmedicated. Will up again next monday if temps are still lower than optimal.

Mostly,I am wondering if RT3 is an issue for me with the numbers I put into my

first post(w/o taking a blood test).

Thanks!

I can definitely feel the difference between 3 grains of thiroyd vs.

non-medicated. My basal temps are much better, in the 97.9 range consistently,

and my average daily temps are 98.2. Un-medicated I commonlty saw rising temps

in the 96's. Afternoon fog is mostly gone too. W/O doing a blood test I would

assume (perhaps incorrectly) that if I feel better and my FT4 numbers are near

bottom range and my FT3 numbers are near top of range that the correct

conversion is taking place?
