Guest guest
>My second last potassium was at 3.6, then 1-2 weeks later it was at 4.3. Now I am even worried about eating a banana. Should I be? I don't want Potassium to go over the top! It would take a LOT of potassium to take it higher and 4,3 is not a bad place to be. Guest guest
I just wonder how my potassium can change that much in just 7 days, without changingmy diet!? Could a few bananas really do that much of a difference? I still have a lot tolearn about electrolytes - Like how fast they change and, how they correlate to each other.I've never seen my potassium over the top range or under it. But ranges are just basedon healthy peoples levels. What if my range is different? It's the same with FT3/FT4/rT3/TSH levels... We're all different!I do eat a lot of vegetables and fruits with potassium in them. But I pretty much eat thesame stuff week to week. Steak, chicken, a tiny bit of sushi, celery, carrots, salad leaves, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, cottage cheese, cheese, and that's pretty much it. >My second last potassium was at 3.6, then 1-2 weeks later it was at 4.3. Keep eating the same, hopefully as your body comes into balance with itself it will stabilise in a good place Changes in HC and T3 will have potential knock on effects elsewhere Nick
Guest guest
Electrolytes are a subject that takes many years to research and understand. But suffice it to say the normal ranges though a bit too broad are the upper and lower LIMITS for EVERYONE that we can live wiht. Out of range electrolytes is SERIOUS so do nto think you are so differnt you can be out of range and it is fine. Within the ranges there are BEST places ot be for sodium I liek ot see 142-144 and for potasisum 4.0-4.2 These sem to be wher most people feel well. To learn more just do a Google search and start reading. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Thank you. I will continue to google things like I've always done. It's just such a drag towander through all the different opinions out there. That's why I like to ask in this group; You guys have experience from years of suffering with these problems. I appreciate it,thanks again! As for sodium, I am thinking that if I drink 1 tea spoon of it, the sodium can go high, and hours later it can go low, and when I make the blood test, it can show a normallowish sodium. This is what I am thinking, but it can be wrong, of course. I want to findout how fast electrolytes are changing!Did you all know what potassium MUST be tested with a straight arm, with no pressurearoun it? (that band they wrap around your arm will skew the results!) - Also, potassiummust be tested the same day in a laboratory, it cannot stay in the fridge in the GP'soffice over the night. It will also affect the result. This I learned from my GP.I also learned that testing electrolytes directly in one of the arteries will give the best, real results of electrolytes.T. Guest guest
What do you mean about knock off effects elsewhere, Nick? Didn't get it, sorry! :pT. >I do eat a lot of vegetables and fruits with potassium in them. But I pretty much eat the >same stuff week to week. If HC or T3 are out then lots of other things will go out as a result. The metabolism and body chemicals all interact in strange ways. Guest guest
No no no it's ok! That was what I thought. I was just looking for a deeper explanation. I see that my body is off balance now. It sure feels like it. This is NOT how a human being should feel like. Everything is just... Not good. (Amazingly horrible to be honest!)Give me a broken leg ANY TIME, just don't give me this state of total confusion, lethargy, and depression because I can't do anything. And when I try to do anything other thansitting still or lying down, I feel even worse.Wish I could test my own electrolytes here in my apartment every day, to find the perfect balance! >What do you mean about knock off effects elsewhere, Nick?
