I would probably lower testopsteorone as your levels are way high. Your

B12 is probably OK but i would lower supplements iof you are taking it.

Yeah with ti going down that fast I think going to 1 every dy would be

warranted. As to the T3 labs, show her this site:

http://www.endocrineweb.com/TFT.html

Which stil has the older MORE CORRECT thyroid lab ranges.

Thank you for the advised link for thyroid levels....I printed it for my next Dr. visit.

I do currently take 5000mg B-12 so I guess I'll cut this in half and re-check with next labs.

I do have a question I forgot to ask you yesterday regarding the iron. I currently take 65mg Iron equivalent to 325mg of Ferrous Sulfate. I read a post a week or so ago that someone in the group posted that said this type of iron was like "poison" to the body. I have used this for about six months now and it does a good job keeping my iron levels at bay. BUT, should I change to another form of supplement Val?? Is this not a good source for iron and is it really harmful to my body? If you think I need to change I certainly will.

Thanks,

Hi ,

Ferrous sulphate is the hardest iron to absorb and poorly tolerated by the body.

Thanks Sky. Do you have any recommendations that would be the equivalent dose of what I am taking at present? I hate that I need to change since I am at a good level but if this iron is not well tolerated in the body then I want to try something a little less harsh, I guess. I don't seem to have any problems with this iron other than constipation but I take 800mg of Magnesium daily and this helps. Even if I am doing well on this iron do you suggest I change and if so what does this type of iron do to the body? I even went back to the STTM site today and the Ferrous Sulfate is recommended there as well which is why I started on this type of iron. Anyway, I do appreciate the comments and if you know of an iron that would be better could you please let me know. My daughter is also taking the

same.

I just switched to Nature MAde iron that was a little higher in dose than my

last supplement, it has 65mg of elemental iron which say it's equivalent to 325

mg ferrous sulphate. I didn't know this about the sulphate. I haven't had any

constipation with it.

I was taking 50mg of a different iron for 10 months and the ferritin didn't go

up much at all.

The Iherb has 27mg, isn't that a bit low per dose?

plus 350mcg of folic acid. No one has had any constipation from it and their

ages range from 6 to 55. My dad got his ferritin from 26 to 103 in 2 months

and that was not taking iron for 5 days.

I must be very lucky! My ferritin level last July was 37 so I went to WalMart

and bought their Ferrous Sulfate 325mg (yielding 65mg elemental iron) and took

them 3 times daily. I knew they would probably cause constipaption, so I also

picked up their generic stool softener (docusate sodium-will not raise your

sodium levels) and took that based on the degree of constipation-usually 3 times

daily also. I quit taking the iron in December and had my ferritin tested about

2 weeks after that and it was 74. I am thankful as I think it is finally now

all coming together. {January 4, I got strict with my diet, and I am finally

losing weight after 3 years of messing around with the whole thyroid-deal!}
