Guest guest
I have hashi's and it appears an RT3 problem. However, I just read this: " It is important to realize that if a patient has thyroid antibodies, all bets are off. All thyroid blood tests from that point on are thrown off, including the Free T3. In that case, one definitely has to go by symptoms to decide the correct level of thyroid medication. Please see my article Understanding Thyroid Lab Tests for a more complete description of why laboratory tests can be thrown off by these antibodies. " at http://thyroid.about.com/cs/testsforthyroid/a/freet3_3.htm . So, if " all bets are off " with lab values in the presence of antibodies, how do I really know if I have an RT3 problem since my fT3 level in my labs could be not correct due to antibodies/hashi's? How do you feel, does your hypo respond to meds successfully?? At the end of the day how you feel is the most important thing and temperature/pulse can give a clue what's happening along the way. Labs are guidance but not the most important thing.
