, Do you mean you are doing flushes AFTER having

GB out and having symptoms come back?? Thanks :-)

..Do you go to a chiropractor and have you been

adjusted since your flush? I am really " into " doing that, personally.

Yes, I am right there with you...will be flushing again probably

in April, but am improved, no severe pain, just enough symptoms

to know that there is still work to be done. Funny how we want

to be all better right away, but take years to get ourselves in the

mess we are in :-) Hang in there, give flushing a good try before

giving up...I am sometimes tempted to give up, too...it's human

nature, but that's why it's neat to have this list to encourage one

another.

No I don't do chiropractic anymore. I go to a massage therapist who

does an alignment technique that really works. Although I haven't

gone for awhile. I guess I probably need to. I am feeling okay

right now but usually after lunch is when it starts. I feel that I

need to wait at least a month to do another flush because it really

wipes my body out afterward. I guess I am going to have to make sure

to eat healthy for awhile. It's just so difficult when you have to

cook all the time and eating out is like walking through a mine

field. You just never know what's going to set off the pain. Oh

well, I guess I will just hang in there and hope that this gets

better eventually and not worse.

Find a chiropractor that does Applied Kinesiology and

have them test you for food allergies/intolerances.

That was the only way I found out what had caused the

problem to begin with - 30 years of eating food that my

body couldn't breakdown, and then my GB started

screaming at me.

The doctors will only try to treat symptoms, they don't

know how to find the true cause/source of the problem

to begin with.

Thanks Suzanne, I have been meaning to get up to see here again. I

actually have an acupuncturist that does the kinesiology and also

does allergy clearing. In 2000 I was diagnosed with asthma and told

to get rid of my cats( then 11 years and 8). I have had them both

since they were kittens. Needless to say I wasn't willing to give up

my cats but I couldn't hardly breathe in my own home. So my massage

therapist referred me to her and she actually cleared the allergy.

They don't bother me anymore unless they rub there fur in my face.

She has also cleared me of hayfever, dust, molds and a variety of

food allergies. I am beginnig to think I am allergic to wheat which

isn't surprising since I have eaten so much of it in my life. So I

am feeling better since I've backed off the wheat. I just have to be

patient and see what needs to be done next.

Funny you should mention wheat - that was the culprit

with me! I grew up on a farm, so you can imagine the

wheat/wheat products I've ingested over the past 30

yrs... I've cut it out of my diet completely and it

made a huge difference. (Wheat & modified food starch

- which can be wheat unless specified). There are a ton

of products with wheat and modified food starch in

addition to just the obvious ones, (i.e. puddings,

candy, cake, cookies, snacks, gravies, thickeners,

pies, etc...) so read ingredients carefully.

I also cut out gluten, too.

Sherrie,

Tell your Dr the Methadone doesn't work and you need something else

to relieve it. It is your pain and your life being affected, don't

let them shine you on.

Best wishes,

Jay

I'm on Remicade and Methotrexate and pretty well controlled. However, it took about 6 months from the time I started Remicade till we increased the dose enough for it to become effective for me. During that time I was on Prednisone, starting at 40 mg daily and tapering whenever I could. Once we finally got the Remicade dose right it didn't take long to get completely off Prednisone. I suggest trying Prednisone to see if that will help you. It might take a fairly high dose at first to get things manageable. God bless.

Hi there,

I am also on remicade and have been having infusions every 8 weeks for almost a year. I have been flaring badly recently and had an infusion last week of remicade. It helped with my fatigue, giving me more energy, but it is yet to help with pain. I am still in agony every day and think that I just have to ride out the pain of the flare. I am not on methodone or anything like that - as I have to continue working and couldnt on pain killers. In fact I dont take any pain killers as they dont work for me. I think you should speak to your Specialist about trying a different pain killer if methodone is not helping. It is a very potent drug to be putting in your body if it is not giving you any relief.

Hang in there,
