My doc had me on Imuran and Pentasa when I went cold turkey last January when I started SCD (for the 2nd time). I had a little improvement overnight but didn't see any real improvements until I started the intro diet on February 5. Luckily, I've been off meds for almost a year and just controlling it with diet. This is a real accomplishment for me because a year ago my doc said that the Imuran/Pentasa combo wasn't working, she couldn't keep me on Prednisone (which worked miraculously), so my only options were Humira/Remicaid or surgery in a year. I know y'all have heard this story 100 times but I love telling it because this diet actually saved my guts!!!! and my wallet because Humira/Remicaid was going to cost me out of pocket about $600/shot.
