SCD and Thyroid

I read Dr. Haas' book and he has a very short chapter on endocrine

problems and mentions that there was improvement in his hypothyroid

patients after they had been on the diet 17 months. Thyroid problems

and Celiac disease share similar symptoms, but I'm assuming the

improvement he referred to was in Celiac problems, not necessarily in

thyroid functioning. Has anyone with thyroid issues seen improvements

(to the point of reducing or not needing thyroid medication) while on

the SCD Diet?

Hi ,

I've been SCD for 13 months now (with many mistakes and just recently

thinking that I was going to go off SCD and eating rice, only to find

out my body could not handle it). I was taking 90mg of armour thyroid

for a few years and just recently had to lower my dose to 60mg. I am

hoping to be able to cut out all thyroid medication so I am now even

more dedicated to SCD.

(I had to find a doctor that actually believed that my body was able

to heal. My old doctor just wanted to use my heart palpitations as an

excuse to put me on Synthroid. We lowered my dose, retested, and

everything is great.)

I thought I was celiac, but it turned out I am just intolerant.
