Guest guest
This message may be of topic but I really don't know if there is relation... I am in my third week on T3 only treatment and I feel already better. However I have other issues that don't seem to improve and I wonder if there is a relation or they are completely independent problems. Particularly I am concerned about my glucose levels. I believe I have insulin resistance and I am a bit desperate because I don't know what else to do to improve. I have been following what I think is a very good diet, with no sugar at all and very little, whole carbohydrates and today my fasting glucose is 105 (even higher than two weeks ago when I decided I was going to be very strict with the food). I am very thin and although I don't exercise much I try to walk a bit. I know this problem is hereditary because my mother has it and her father had it also. In fact my grandfather never took care of himself and developed type II diabetes. Is insulin resistance completely unrelated to thyroid or do they influence each other. My mother is also treating her hypothyroidism with Armour and her fasting glucose seems to get higher as she rises her dose so I wonder... I also have PCOS and I am trying to get pregnant and I have read that PCOS improves a lot when you improve your insulin resistance, but I don't know what else to do apart from starting exercising seriously or taking metformin or something similar (which doesn't appeal to me at all).
