Guest guest
Yes, I did have anemia and was always cold (even in spring & summer). Before I had anemia I was always cold, too and was checked for anemia, but never had it until I started bleeding heavily from fibroids. Iron tabs. cleared it up for me. Guest guest
I use to be severely anemic before my diagnosis, and now, I am doing better. I could never take iron supplements or even a multi-vitamin with iron. My doctor asked me to try one last pill and it HAS worked and I have had no side effects except for a hemoglobin count high enough to allow me to donate blood!!! (I was so excited about that.) It is called chromagen forte and I take one every other day. Lizz Re: anemia? > Does anyone else have anemia with being Celiac or should I be attributing this state to my hiatus hernia that was also seen in the endoscopy? > I just dont know what to think anymore.. Snipped Yes, I was severely anemic. I am now up in the very low-normal range. I bought some cat iron cookware, as I read tht cooking in cast iron will bring your levels up. It was also easier and cheaper than finding a GF supplement. (My multi-vitamin has 100% iron, but my doctor said that wouldn't be enough). Guest guest
Anemia is one of the symptoms of celiac. I had no other symptoms (that I was aware of) except for anemia. Donna in Littleton anemia? Does anyone else have anemia with being Celiac or should I be attributing this state to my hiatus hernia that was also seen in the endoscopy?I just dont know what to think anymore.. Had a disastrous visit to Country Buffet. Dont know why I agreed to it: what is the worst place to go to? A pre made buffet where you have NO say in how anything is prepared! (No chicken breast left at all.) So I took some beef that was still alive so couldnt eat it, some dull vegetables, and fruit. yes i know, healthier! No offence if anyone works there.. But I was deflated. ( waste of time and money for me though. Cleo

Guest guest
Whether you noticed symptoms or not, if you were ingesting gluten, you were being damaged. The anemia was probably caused by Celiac. > I actually went to try the iron sucrose IV to increase my iron counts. > I am sure that I was the exception, but the second the IV hit my blood > stream, I had an anaphalactic reaction. Guest guest
Oh, absolutely. But the first time I ever had symptoms that were so severe that I went to a GI doc for was after the infusion. Re: anemia? Guest guest
Could it have been from what they flushed the IV with? I know they ask you if you are allergic to something before they do it but since I was in the middle of being sick with pregnancies or in labor I didn’t really pay attention because it didn’t affect me.
