I'm sooooo tired of being sick.......... You are pretty hypo on that 4 grains, it's not being absorbed well. I have a feeling you are going to have to get more T3 into you in order to hang onto the iron. I presume you are tolerating the current meds (wich contain 36 of T3) OK, in that case you can swap to T3 and build slowly as your T4 starts to diminish while supplementing iron heaviily, at least 150 of elemental iron a day is recommended. The starting dose on www.thyroid-rt3.com should work fine for you, you MAY find you have to increase more slowly than the suggested there, it depends how that ferritin is doing. If an increase leaves you jittery then go back to the old dose, wait a few days, and then try again Feel free to keep asking questions Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com

When I check my bp it has gone much too high. Is this a common side effect of too much T3 than the body can cope with at the time? Thanks Pam

If you know the signs of " too much for you " then you can work by them . Nick
Guest guest
Nick, Thanks for your answer. Just want to verify that I can start by swapping out T3 IN PLACE of the NDT? (4 grain = 37.5) Do I swap all at once or gradually do it, followed by increasing slowly? If I change over, is it a good idea to do it this way with LOW ferritin (36) and moderately HIGH cortisol? Thanks. > > >Should I ask the doc for cytomel? How much to start? I really want to start the T3 process quickly, if I can.
