That sticker makes me really popular at Christmastime when it's five degrees out and the closest parking space to the mall is in Guam. My friends mysteriously think of me when there's an extra Yankees ticket.I may be going to hell for it, but when I arrive there, I'm parking in the good spot. You go, girl!

I too am a 30 year old woman who " looks " perfectly normal. I have a

handicapped parking placard as well and get very dirty looks from

people. One person left me a very mean and nasty note on my

windshield and didn't sign it. I cried about that for weeks. I so

wish I could have the guts to say something like what you wrote

above. It's so true.

I also have a service dog, for my RA and diabetes. She is a small,

14 lbs. Sheltie who picks up items I drop (like keys, pens, etc...)

and she also alerts me when my sugar is really low. People ask me

all the time what I have her for and what a little dog like that can

do. I want to use that line above for that also!

Having hidden diseases is very difficult. I also suffer from Crohn's

disease and I " look " healthy. I often walk without a limp, I am

always smiling and I have a cute little dog that accompanies me

everywhere. I don't look sick. Sometimes I wish people who had RA or

Crohn's or Diabetes were painted pink so people would see the pink

and go " Oh I shouldn't be a prick because that person really does

have something wrong with her. " I bet Jeff Foxworthy could come up

with good sign. :-)

Sorry, but I guess we just have to deal with the AH's in the world

and maybe we were put on this Earth to educate people. You don't

have to be a wheelchair to have a disability! Now you tell me your

medical history and I will tell you mine. :-)
