Guest guest
that makes 24 differnt pills iaam on sherrie Sherrie (and others), Do you have a good system for keeping track of so many meds? (Refills, travel containers, etc.) I'm on 4 meds and my daughter is on 2, and I find it a challenge to stay on top of the refills. Once I dashed to the pharmacy just before they closed because I discovered I was out of MTX on the night I needed to take it. (I had called the refill in days ago, just had forgotten to pick it up.) I'd love to hear what works for everyone with med management. Thanks! Sierra
Guest guest
I try to get all my medicines once a month about a week before I run out of the first one. That way if they have to get a new authorization from a doctor they usually can before I actually run out. ----- Original Message ----- From: snowdrift52003 Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Tuesday, December 14, 2004 10:28 AM Subject: Re: managing all the meds! that makes 24 differnt pills iaam on sherrieSherrie (and others), Do you have a good system for keeping track of so many meds?(Refills, travel containers, etc.) I'm on 4 meds and my daughter is on 2, and I find it a challenge to stay on top of the refills. Guest guest
This is an excellent point which brings up another concern..... The US FEMA guidelines for disasters (both manmade/terrorist or natural) are that everyone on a prescription drug has at least 30 days worth of each prescription they take, in the event that these meds became difficult to get for some reason. I find this almost amusing. Try telling a physician to write you a prescription for longer for many meds. Try asking an insurance company to fill it for 90 days when they hope it's discontinued after 30. If we bought my daughters insulin for her pump, my sons ulcerative colitis meds, my sons asthma meds, and my RA meds for greater than 30 days we couldn't pay our mortgage. So the result is that all of us can't meet the FEMA recommendations for our own Rx meds, except for one day a month right after filling the Rx. It's only then that we have a full months supply of anything.
