Guest guest
Deborah Well, talk about similar. I had inflammatory breast cancer 14 years ago while I was pregnant with my son. I had a mastectomy and chemo while pregnant. My son is now 14 and he is fine. I have been NED ever since. I was married 16 years and have been divorced from my husband for 2 years now. I am currently going to college to get a degree as a medical assistant. I don't have much of a life except college and homework, LOL. And taking care of the teenager! Good luck to you. I hope you heal very quickly. Hugs Pam
Guest guest
Hi Deborah and welcome to the group. I am a 15 1/2 yr survivor. I am sorry to hear that yours returned. Do you have any pictures of you in your Folk dancing dress? It would be nice if you do if you could post it in the photo section of the group. If you need help just let me know. I was pregnant at that time, had the baby, who is now almost 16. I'm divorced from her father for the last two years.I'm home "healing", getting major cabin fever. I'm (was)a very active person, I work full time, dance two or three times a week, Israeli Folk dancing and take care of my teen.I feel very relieved, my lymph nodes were clean, I will probably be treated hormonally. I just don't know what to do with myself right now. I would like to chat with someone who is or was in a similiar situation as me.Deborah
Guest guest
Hi Deborah, Sorry to hear that your have a recurrence. Good news that it was not in your lymph nodes. I had a mastectomy last November, finished 4 rounds of chemo, and am now on Herceptin for a year. www.breastcancer.org has discussion boards for different topics, including recurrences. I found alot of support and good information on the boards. They also have a chat room, but I haven't tried it. take care,

Guest guest
Jackie Yes, I had 4 rounds of FAC while pregnant. You must be past your first trimester to receive chemo. I was in a study at MD that was for pregnant women with breast cancer. I was the thirteenth lady to sign up and my son was the eighth baby born. He weighted almost 8 pounds--of course I only gained 16 pounds and had to have blood transfusions after he was born because my counts were so low. Guest guest
Dear Betsey, I am so sorry to read that you were under the weather. I hope this finds you feeling a little better - you're obviously rundown right now, with Wayne's Dad and running back and forth. You have to take care of yourself too you know! I, like Elaine, also noticed your absence for a few days...glad to hear from you. Best,
