Guest guest
She refuses to believe this. So, I am having puffy eyes and cant lose wieght despite a week on atkins, and cold. all of these can be low cortisol too...not sure if I should try raising the t3 until just a week before the test? I did feel better when I reduced from 100 to 75 as per Val...but then after I got a cold, feeling worse in these regards.>It's been sebveral weeks and my dr refuses to let me take the test again. she insists I have to wait 6 weeks. This is a Dr who has forgotten that you are on T3. Guest guest
Leisa when I was 40 adn the 4 specialists I paid everything I owned to and then some all gave up on me sayign i woudl die anyway, I stopped allowing doctors to leave me sick. You KNOW what I would do. I would try an increase in T3 and if that did not help then it is most liekly low cortisol. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
thanks! I before reading this just tried to raise the cortisol first...but your right. raise one(hopefully the less obtrusive one) and wait and see..then the other. Ill try the cortisol first, in order to placate the dr..but if I dont feel alot better, Ill raise the t3. But you did tell me that the 7.something number was too high of ft3..so I lowered. kinda would be surprised if i have to now raise it, you know? Guest guest
Hi Leisa, I have just had a similar experience. I've been on T3 for six+ months now. I tried SRT3, then finally switched to Cytomel. I also started with SRHC and finally switched to Cortef. I would have saved alot of time had I just done the real stuff to start with....but I followed my Dr's. orders. Anyway, back in November I also tested a 7.0 on my FT3 and my Dr. told me to lower. I was also taking 100 mcg of Cytomel and took it down to 62.5mcg trying my darndest to get everything evened out between the T3 and the HC...constantly checking my temps and recording everything. Well, here I am two months later with a FT3 of 5.5 and feeling terrible. I have just in the last week got my Cytomel dose back up to 93.75 again and I'm starting to feel much better. I may still take it back to 100..we'll see. I have also had to get off my cortef. It was causing terrible blaoting. I am only taking a few Isocort per day now so I guess the T3 was finally helping the cortef heal my adrenals as well. I talked with Nick a couple of days ago kind of worried about my T3 getting high again but as he pointed out, that as long as my temps were not too high and my pulse was not elevated that I most likely was not too on too high a dose. He doses by how he feels only. I know that we are all different and I really want to go by the guidelines of the labs but I felt so much better when my level was at that 7.0 mark. It may be that I just need more and may be your case as well. I will be due for more labs soon and I will have to somehow convince my Dr. that I want to stay at this dose. I just hope she will let me. If not then I'm finding someone that will or I'm self-dosing. Good Luck to you. Hope you don't mind my two-cents. Thought it might help. It is challenging trying to find that perfect spot. I'm still not there but I'm still so much better than I was before. thanks! Guest guest
wow thanks , yes very similar! Except I was feeling hypo at the 100 t3, so I was fine with lowering it. I think that lowering the t3 helped the isocort to allow the t3 in the cells..and I felt wonderful for 2 weeks, yet, then I got a cold. This may be why I have now felt hypo again. So, Ill try more isocort(I already took 10, now will do 12) to see if I feel better..I have to wait 3 weeks for a new ft3 test..but have no problem with my numbers looking high(except Val did suggest I lower as well), since we have no t4. I am very surprised that my dr doesnt understand this simple concept. At any rate, let me know how your results turn out,k.
