Guest guest
On my recent labs where I had that great T3 level and low T4 showing I was converting quickly, there was also a low ACTH again, 8. The cortisol was 27 and high, but my doctor had me take my 10mg morning Cortef before the test. When I first tested ACTH with my endo MD back in 11/09, it came back 9 with am cortisol at 17. I was not on any Cortef or Thyroid, but had been on bio estrogen and progesterone. My questions is, what would be causing me to keep getting low ACTH numbers. One time during a stressful blood draw the ACTH was 42 and more normal range. WHy is it still low, and yet this last time, I had high cortisol. Is the high cortisol b/c of the dose before the test? So then that value of morning serum cortisol would be invalid if the ACTH is still low at 8?
