Hi everyone,

Sunflower-Beet Pizza - Unfortunately, this recipe was not developed by

me. I am not sure, but I believe the policy for this list is to not

post recipes created by third parties --and my own policy is to not

post more than one or two per author.

But I can certainly share which book I found it in: The Thrive Diet,

by n Brazier. His recipes rock. Only a few of the recipes are

SCD as-is, but many more are easily modified. As his book is all

vegan, there is lots of inspiration for using veggies, nuts and

fruits in delicious and creative new ways. (As I'm not using dairy

yet, I am actually using my vegan cookbooks a lot more than my SCD

cookbooks right now!)

Re: Marilyn's reminder that Elaine did not support the use of seed

flours. This recipe doesn't actually use a sunflower seed flour --just

homogenized (mashed/blended) sunflower seeds.

Burgers - As above. Basically, homogenize soaked nuts, mix them with

yummy things, and eat them. The recipes I use are n Brazier's

from that same book, or modified from them. Very simple, very

delicious and can be had raw (for maximum nutrition) or cooked. As

Brazier is vegan, there are no eggs in his burger patties.

Nut Flours - I actually use homogenized/mashed/blended nuts far, far

more than I use nut flours. I am doing everything from scratch, so I

don't like to complicate things more than necessary. Mashed nuts and

seeds work great for burgers, crusts, snack bars, etc. My cakes and

cookies are made out of squash or carrots with eggs and spices and I

don't bother with bread or muffins, so for the most part I am skipping

flour altogether. However, I am dehydrating some soaked almonds as we

speak to use in a new recipe --Coconut Banana Cream Pie. This one,

too, is Brazier's, and I am replacing its suggested flax and hemp

flours with additional almond flour.

My favourite books for versatile, dairy-free, egg-free, veggie-heavy

recipes are

-The Thrive Diet by n Brazier

-Raw Foods for Busy People by Jordan Maerin (this one has " Refried

Almonds " - just like a black bean dip and amazing, as well as a

cashew-based " ice cream " substitute that blew us all away a few nights

ago)
