Guest guest
Hi, I have just reached the 6 month milestone on the scd and I think I am experiencing my second die-off (I had one around the 3-4 month mark as well). This time is a little different. It started about a week and a half ago with some D and urgency returning. There is very little blood which I am taking to be a great sign but I am suffering from stabbing stomach pains. First off they signalled that I needed to get to the loo quickly but in the last couple of days the D has calmed down (I was eating from my safe foods list - I had not got past that in the last 6 months but since yesterday have been on the strict intro diet.) but the pain is still there. It seems to start stabbing when my stomach grumbles - I have been quite windy as well (burping like a trooper!). It is quite a sharp pain which throbs for about 10-20 seconds and then goes again. Sorry for the essay but I was wondering if anyone else had experienced anything like this and if anyone had any tips to get past this. My instinct is to ride it out as I am trying to taper off my meds at the mo (down to 1 balsalazide a day and 2 azathioprine) and don't want to go to the docs and for them to prescribe something for me. ps I did have a slightly similar pain early on in the diet. It had similar symptoms but was solely concentrated on the lower left side of my guts and didn't seem to correlate with bms. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give. Cheers, Mike UC 6 years SCD 6 months
