Guest guest
I tried filtering my tap water many years ago and found that I got stomch cramps. I used a built in filter that tapped into the water line under my sink. When I stopped drinking it and went back to unfiltered tap water, the cramps went away. Bottled water has the same effect on me. I tried filtering my water at the tap again in a new house and got an upset stomach with diarrhea. I stopped drinking it and the cramps and diarrhea went away. It seems crazy that all I can tolerate is unfiltered tap water. Someone mentioned once that perhaps I'm sensitive to the carbon in the filters. I'd like to at least avoid the chlorine in the water out of fear that it's killing my good bacteria, but the carbon filter is necessary for this. What I've had to do is put my water in a glass, stir it, and let it sit for a couple of hours before I drink it to let the chlorine off-gas. It would be nice to be able to drink it right away. Spring water doesn't seem to upset my stomach, but lugging all of those plastic bottles, worrying about ingesting bisphenol-a or phthalates from the plastic, plus the effect on the environment concerns me. I'm very confused about water and I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this sensitivity and knows what might be causing it. Thank you. - Hypothyroidism Husband UC SCD since August 2008
Guest guest
Maybe you could fill a glass jug with tap water, stir it and let it sit, then cap it and put it in the fridge so you have a nice glass of water when you need it. I know filtered water has all the minerals taken out and it tastes crappy. Just a suggestion.
