My son was a Lance Corporal in the Marines so I am not sure if the same

rules apply. refused the shots, was court martialed, sentenced to 30

days in the brig and given a bad conduct discharge. He is home now.

In the Marines, harrassment is illegal. To shut some of them up he would

threaten to press charges. Of course when you don't do what they want a

certain amount of harrassment is expected. But in the Marines if harrassment

turns into hazing that is illegal.

would read the Marine book of rules and regulations so he knew where he

stood on things. He refused non-judical punishment. Because whether they

get to punish you or not the end is the same.

We are still fighting to get these shots stopped. will be in USA

Weekend magazine Sept. 19. It is an insert in Sunday papers. He will also

be in People magazine either this month or next. and three other's

pictures are going to be used by Representative as a visual aid when he

talks about stopping the anthrax vaccine. When you see the people you are

harming they become real.

We are trying to get as much publicity as possible to put pressure on the

congress to pass these bills. I have petitions in two towns that I am going

to send to congressmembers.

I live in the Texas Panhandle and all three congressmembers have written

letters on 's behalf but have not committed to supporting the bills. I

am still working on them.

Does your husband have a JAG lawyer? You might contact Mark Zaid at

ZaidMS@... He will advise you for free. He practically represented

for free but the court martial was so unfar that their was nothing Mark

could do. The judge would not let him call any of our 40 + witnesses or

present any of our evidence. My husband and I went to the court martial and

the judge would not even look at us.

Its not easy but your husband has done the right and the smart thing.

has never doubted that he did the right thing. Now that he is out we can see

that 30 days in the brig was a small price to pay for his continuted good

health.

If I can be of any help, let me know.

Harassment is against the law, both in the military (all branches) and in

federal law. Get the facts and get them good. Carry a miniature tape

recorder if possible because the " company line " will be that you are trying

for revenge. Next, file a federal law suit against that soldier (I refuse to

call him/her an NCO). Don't file against the government but against the

individual. You have civil rights and you have the power to enforce them.

like our former president would ask " are you better off today than you were

Re: Harrassment

,

Yes, someone can take your EXACT words and quote you and put it into

their own website. You can't sue someone for libel if the statements

they are making are true. If your words are quoted exactly then it's

a true statement. However, if this website " about people like you "

turns out to be defamatory to the group of " people like you " then you

may have recourse.

If the unwanted e-mails are bothersome, hit the " delete " key without

reading. Don't waste your time or energy on them.

We all have our opinions about WLS, including MGB, and are entitled to

share them. None of us have represented ourselves to be weight-loss

surgeons when giving our opinions to potential patients. All we have

is our own experience. Shout your opinion from the rooftops with a

really lound megahorn!

> I know we have a lot of very smart people on this site so I have a

question..... is it legal for someone to take our written words off

this site or any other site and copy them to other sites? You know of

course why I am asking this question. I just received another e.mail

where she states " I am NOT going to shut up or go away. In fact, I am

going to put EVERYTHING YOU WRITE on a website about people like you. "

I would like to know if we have any recourse against her.

> I also have another question ---- has anyone heard me in the recent

past encourage anyone to have this surgery? My standard opinion is to

do your homework, research all your options and make the decision that

is right for you - but whatever your decision the most important thing

is knowledge of what you are doing. I try very hard not to steer

anyone in any direction! If someone asks me for my story I give it as

honestly as I can.

Harassment of any kind is unacceptable in the workplace, even if it's

subtle and disguised with humor. Speak to your supervisor or someone

in HR; if it is bothering you, it should be stopped.
