Guest guest
Just curious what people think about purchasing a dehydrator. Are they worth the money? What do you make with them? Thanks for any info on them. Steve
Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, First of all your suggestions for kitchen stuff are always spot on. Second- this post made me crack up which is always a pro in my book. On Lucy's site it says the " 2900 " model and not " 3900 " . On other sites the 3900 is sold. I'm gonna have to call Lucy- but in general do you think this is a problem? If Lucy sells the 2900- do you think I should get that one or the 3900? Can't wait to make dehydrated veggies and jerky so I have snacks to take with me outside. As of now, I just come home. Have gotten into trouble getting hungry and not having anything on hand- I only eat what I make. I hope I will be able to tolerate this and that it will make my life easier. Guest guest
I bought a dehydrator from Lucy a few months ago...no timer, 9 trays. I've been slicing up bananas like crazy. They're delicious dried, although too advanced for my son, so I have to eat them. I've not tried pineapple yet. Marilyn are you using Dole canned pineapple or slicing fresh pineapple to dry? How positively dreadful that you are just FORCED to eat dried pineapple. <g> Marilyn are you using Dole canned pineapple or slicing fresh pineapple to dry? I was using " Dole pineapple in its own juice, " which is what Elaine specified as permitted. Dole has recently changed its formulation from " in its own juice " to " in 100% pineapple juice " and mentioning concentrates. I have not had a chance to query them about those concentrates, but I did note that I had a bit of a reaction to the last pineapple I did, and THEN checked the can, and realized it had changed. Fresh pineapple is, indeed, very expensive. Not to mention more than a bit of a pain to prepare. The last time I had pineapple was right before my surgery, when my niece sent me a an Edible Bouquet of strawberries and ripe pineapple. Both were already prepared. <g> — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
