Guest guest
What side effects are you referring to? I am on the generic form of florinef, and interested in side effects as I've not been able to tolerate more than a little bit and would love to be off of it totally but my bp is so low and I think, though I'm not sure yet, that the florinef keeps it above water. typical bp for me is in the range of 106 over65 To: RT3_T3 Sent: Tue, January 19, 2010 8:25:33 AMSubject: florinef I was just reading about this drug, Florinef. The side effects scare me to death. Is there any other way to treat this problem.Has anyone in the group been on Florinef? Guest guest
Hi Miriam, Some of the same side effects as HC has. What do you mean you have not been able to tolerate more than a lititle bit? My bp is not low so I hope it doesn't go too high. Doc L wants me to keep my eye on the bp and if I have any swelling. Will start with half a tablet for a few days before going to a whole pill. Did you have a low Aldosterone and high renin lab result? How do you feel each day? Guest guest
Faith, I had low aldosterone and low renin. I have had kidney inflammation/pain since starting on florinef/fludrocortisone. The first few days were disorienting but my body adjusted after a few days. Val said to start with 1/4 table and it was wise advice. I'm now on 1/2 tablet and scared to go up due to the pan I have in my ureters. Guest guest
I've been on Florinef since 09.26.09 due to low aldosterone, low renin, nighttime urination (nocturia) and an inability to stabilize my electrolytes. It fixed me right up! The only side effect I ever had during the ramp-up time was headaches, but they went away after a few days. ~Rainbow~ 30 year old Female 5'6 " 138lbs Dx: Hashi's, AF, Wheat Sensitivity Rx/OTC: Cynomel 50mcg, HC 27.5mg, Florinef 1tab, Potassium 90mEq, Sea Salt 3/4tsp My Log and Labs: http://tinyurl.com/pvgjmb My Blog: http://hyporainbow.wordpress.com > > I was just reading about this drug, Florinef. Guest guest
Hi Rainbow, I have low Adosterone of (2) sodium not quite mid range and potassium near the top. Was wondering what your picutre looked like before you stated the Florinef. What did you notice a difference in? Symptoms. I don't have any dark spots anywhere that I know of on my body. I don't have to go the bathroom all the time in fact I have really cut back on going at all. this is weird for me. Guest guest
I take 1/2 tab of Florinef a day and don't have any side effects from it. I do get headaches and dizzyness if I take more. I also fill capsules with sea salt and take 4-5 a day, which also keeps my BP stable. Before the salt/Florinef combo I sometimes would pass out in the mornings. Not any more. I would recommend that you have your aldosterone levels checked, along with sodium and potassium before beginning Florinef. My potassium was high before Florinef, but with 1/2 tab a day I hav eto take a little extra potassium (100 mg.) a day to keep the sodium/potassium ratio good. I also find I have to keep sodium at the TOP of the lab references or my BP falls. Stevie Lyn Texas > > > Â > What side effects are you referring to? Guest guest
Here were my aldosterone and renin labs before Florinef: 09.10.09 Aldosterone - 7.2 (range 4.0 - 31.0) 09.10.09 Renin, Plasma - <0.15 L (range 6 - 24) My sodium had fallen down to 136 and no matter how much salt I took, the urination wouldn't go away and my number wouldn't go up. I also used to get dizzy if I stood up too fast, but that no longer happens. ~Rainbow~ 30 year old Female 5'6 " 138lbs Dx: Hashi's, AF, Wheat Sensitivity Rx/OTC: Cynomel 50mcg, HC 27.5mg, Florinef 1tab, Potassium 90mEq, Sea Salt 3/4tsp My Log and Labs: http://tinyurl.com/pvgjmb My Blog: http://hyporainbow.wordpress.com > > > > I was just reading about this drug, Florinef. Guest guest
Thank you for that. My sodium is 139. I am not having to get up and go the bathroom. I actually hold it most the day when I am busy. I don't drink a ton though and I shoud increase this. I feel like I have retained a lot o fwater.
