Guest guest
I don't know that it would work that way, but many times RA seems to start after the body goes through some trauma: illness, surgery, emotional crisis, etc. Hugs, Jacy ~Women don't have hot flashes; we have power surges. jacymail@...IM: jacygal - ICQ: 96949087www.geocities.com/mtn_rose Want a signature like this? ----- Original Message ----- From: stretch20011 Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Wednesday, February 02, 2005 20:53 Subject: Dumb Question re: Cervical Arthritis ... Guest guest
I've never heard of arthritis spreading this way even locally. There are a lot of different kinds of arthritis recognized and probably a lot more not yet specifically identified. The cause or causes of arthritis are not known. In some cases there seems to be a genetic componentbut in other cases no genetic component can be identified. Some people think RA is related to microbacteria or diet but others see no connection. From my observations and talking to others arthritis often occurs shortly after some kind of stress (physical, emotional, medical, hormonal changes, etc.) but stress does not usually lead to arthritis so it is probably an enabler rather than a cause. My personal opinion is that there are several basic causes of what we call RA and each basic cause leads to a different disease but we call them all RA because we don't know enough to tell one from another or even tell how many kinds of RA there are. My guess is that there was something in your body that, given the proper conditions, could become RA. The trauma of the surgery and recovery could have been enough to enable or trigger the RA even though the real cause is something else. I hope this helps. God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: stretch20011 Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Wednesday, February 02, 2005 7:53 PM Subject: Dumb Question re: Cervical Arthritis ... Is it possible???
