Yogurt maker woes..

I've got the Yogourmet yogurt maker. I've been wishing I had seen the posts

about being

able to use the dehydrator before I bought it, but have made several batches and

it does

seem to work, producing a creamy, tart yogurt.

Sometimes the top pops on the inner yogurt container. Given I'm often asleep or

at work

during the whole process, I don't get to replace it immediately. Does this

happen to others?

Should I be concerned?

How long should it take to get up to 100-110? Is this totally dependent on

ambient

temperature? It seems to take several hours for me in a 68-degree house.

Even though it takes a long time to heat up, it often rises to 115 eventually.

I have a dimmer

switch, and monitor the temperature as best I can. Frustrating, though! Maybe

it's worth

upgrading to the dehydrator after all!
