Guest guest
I empathize with your situation, Christy. I have lots of foods I avoid that are SCD allowable. Your pie sounds scrumptious. Others will likely give you suggestions for stuffing. It's not Thanksgiving Day here in Canada, but if I were celebrating, I'd probably include lots of veggies that I tolerate, such as zucchini, green beans, and cauliflower. I love cranberries, so I'm dreaming about buying them for Christmas. I might have a bowl of avocado and lemon juice or nut milk yogurt plus maybe some hand-peeled shrimp. I ate that yesterday. I eat weird snacks. :-) I might eat a treat that I don't usually eat, like frozen banana. What do you eat each day? What is healing your digestive system? I find that broths with small amounts of fish or turkey or lamb plus select veggies help me. It sounds as if you're not truly on SCD. I don't think you can do SCD as a vegetarian, if that's what you are now, because of the symptoms. It's difficult. Hang in there! Happy SCD Thanksgiving in the midst of the struggle. :-) Louise MCS, ME/CFS, FM--severely ill since 1973 food sensitivities and candida scd--Feb. 25/08 Vancouver Island, BC, Canada Does anyone have any tips for what I can make today? Things I'm avoiding: - nuts - dairy (though I think I'll slip here and have SCD french cream on the pumpkin pie) - all meat (including poultry & fish) - eggs - carrots - usual SCD no's Happy SCD Thanksgiving, everyone! -Christy Crohns colitis dx 1999 SCD since 3/08 Seattle, WA

Well, I just took a test-recipe out of the oven which is made with two cups cooked mashed, drained celeriac (but suspect you could use a summer squash if you tolerate that better), 2 eggs (should have been 3), chopped celery, chopped onion, and homemade poultry seasoning. It's a bit soft, hence my comment about the extra egg, but pretty tasty. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
