Guest guest
Hi Snow, I am new here too, but let me tell you, these folks are wonderful, I hate to think how I would be feeling today, if I had not found the list, everyone is just wonderful and friendly and helpful, oh soooooo helpful. And one of the best things is, we all understand. My name is Kitt. Prednisone-Are any of you that are taking this med, having weird or crazy or scary type dreams. I never or almost never have nightmares, but for the last three nights......I have had one each nite. , I am glad the 'day' wiht the WC doc is over. I do not blame you for getting mad withhim, they can be such jerks. I had one that had to evaluate my back injury, and he sat there all smug telling me that h could see no reason I could not work. I told him I wished that were the case, and Ireally lost it with him, I told him off very loudly, that I was 35 years old (then) and had just lost EVERYTHING, my job, my independance, and self worth, oh I do not remember all I said to him but it ended with something like, and al this so someone like you can sit here and tell me what I feel, I told him he di dnot have a clue as to the pain I was in (at this point, it was so uncontrolled, I was sleeping maybe 3 hours a night in 15-20 min intervals, could nto walk-stand-lay- nothing, I was constantly moving my body, constantly in pain....that is changed now with my back....I have it under control), I told him he might deny my claim and if he did I would see him in court, then I called off the name of my doctor and the name of my lawyer, and he had a change of expression,. I found out later that my lawyer had a tough reputation for dealing with jerks and standing up for his client. I wish you success with getting this mess straightened out. PET TALK- my cat is driving me crazy. Its spring time, and I guess he wants to go outside, but he is an inside cat, he is two years old, and startign to become very agressive. Not in a mean way, just agressive. At night he has started jumping on and off the bed several times just whwen we fall asleep, or walking the house and crying out. In Germany they will not neuter/spay unless the cat is going to be 'outside', and the vets are especially against this if it is an inside Persian, but I am going to have to talk to his vet again, I sure do not want him to start spraying, and I feel like that might happen with the personality change he is having. CHOCOLATE-I would be a member of ''chocoholics anonyomous'' if one existed. One bite, and I am on a binge. Thsi is bad now , since i have diabetes. I have several good chocolates here in Germany that are sugar free, but they are hard to find.......wehn I do I buy a lot!!! On the subject of WC for a moment, again, the WC dr. asked me to bend over from the waist, to see how far I could go. The degree you can do this is suposed to have some relation on your pain. At the time, I could not go more than 3-6 inches forward, and he tried to push me, and I told him I would not make the pain worse, that that point was where it started to hurt. He was not happy. Places to Draw Blood- In extreme cases, where there just simply are no veins, they can do a 'cut down' or subclavian cut, where a catheter is inserted in a surgical proceedure, and it remains in, and normally if it is cared for properly, will last several months. They had to do one of these for my mother when she had her last stroke, one for IV's and one for blood work. Research-I think it is amazing that America hears the news that is going on in Germany, and here I live here and never know of what is going on. This happens a lot. People will ask me a question about something they have heard on the news, and I have to say, I have nto heard about it. German news just does not cover stuff well here, unless it is a tragedy, like the big train wreck, or a massive auto crash on the autobahn, then they show it and ALL of it uncensored. We had a bank robbery here, three years ago, this is an odd occurance, it jsut doesn't happen here, the banks are well put together and the tellers all behind bullet proof windows and guns are banned here, so, someone had smuggled in some guns, anyway they took hostages, I only heard about it cause I was in town and someone that had been there was talking about it, not once, was it on our news. Strange, don't ya think? -oh my , I did not get the post card, but it is prob. there, in the tons of mail I have to go through. At first I could not do so much as the pain was so great, now that it is under control I have been having to get my house cleaned up where I could nto do much for over 2 months. I will search it out today. You were sweet to send it. I am sorry I missed it but hope it is still there. Wow, we can just have a 'mini convention' when I do get back to IL to visit my friend there, she would love meeting you all too, I hav told her so much about the list. I think without my computer I would have lost it a long time ago, its the only thing that keeps me sane !!! Can you imagine this, I was here in Germany for over a year, without any thing to read (no books), nothing to watch on tv (it was all dubbed in German, still is, but I can now understand most of what is said there) and no computer !!! Yep, I was abotu to go nuts. I am realyl behind on my emails, for those that have sent personal messeanges, I will get to them eventually, so much mail is generated on this list, and all, but I have them all and am reading every day. Guest guest
Try folic acid or leucovorin. I had terrible side effects and finally stopped the methotrexate. As far as what you can do. For some the side effects diminish with time. For me it got worst to the point I had constant diarrhea, vomiting and nausea. Mouth, eye, throat and private area sores. The little bit of good it did just was not enough for all the side effects. So I wish I had more positive words but Methotrexate is not the drug for everyone.
