Guest guest
Hello All, As far as I understand powdered milk is illegal, correct? Would it then be legal if used to make yogurt? Thanks in advance for any help. Edwin UC 2+ yrs SCD 1.5< yrs

If you mix the milk powder with a normal amount of water, ie, reconstitute it as fluid milk, and then make yogurt according to the SCD directions, it would be legal. If, however, you add extra milk powder to make the milk more " creamy, " or add additional milk powder to thicken the yogurt, you would be adding huge amounts of lactose which even our yogurt fairies (the yogurt culture) cannot transform, and the yogurt, even if fermented for 24 hours or longer, would have too much lactose to be considered SCD legal. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
