Guest guest
Hi All, Met w/doc last Thursday, who increased my T3 (on T3 only) from 25 mcg/day to 50 mcg/day. My latest labs are: TSH = 0.01 FT3 3 = 3.6 (range 2.4 - 4.2) RT3 = 306 (range 90 - 350) T4 = 7.13 FT4 = .90 (0.93 - 1.70) (my FT3 to RT3 ratio is now improved somewhat, to about 10 or so) TPO = 193 (up from 168) Tg Ab = 68 (up from 46) (both of these levels have consistently risen with each blood draw over the last 6 months, including while on hormone replacement) Ferritin last time was 84. Can anyone tell me what all this means? My last RT3 to FT3 ratio was 7.86 -- it's a bit better now (around 10-11), but since I'm on T3 alone, what should I be doing? Was the doctor's decision to double my T3 ok? She told me to take two 25 mcg tabs a day (I will break that down into 4 doses). Thanks a lot, Therese

I would avoid doubling that T3 in one hit, too much for a sudden jump Maybe take it up a quarter tablet a day every few days or half a tablet now and half in a week's time. Some dosing and increasing suggestions are here http://thyroid-rt3.com/dosing.htm Nick
