Guest guest
Judy: In reading your list of meds, I notice you have " in remission since Dec. 1999 " - but then your list contains RA meds including Celebrex? I guess my thought was that one is not in remission as long as the meds are still required. (?) Babs RA 8/98, DX 4/99, AP 11/99 200 mg. Minocin 2.5 mg. Methotrexate 112 mcg. Synthroid 2 mg. Guest guest
Hi Babs, The reason that I'm on Celebrex is because I also have OA and a lot of pain in my right knee. The knee has been progressively getting worse with spurs and osteopathic lipping (whatever that is) and the doc wanted me to try it to see if it would help with the pain. The other meds I'm on are only for a certain time. I've weaned off Prednisilone and the other ones will either end or be weaned off as well. The last to go will be the minocycline. I had decided to keep that going for at least 6-9 months after remission, which is what is advised. I don't think it wise just to stop all meds immediately after going into remission - just do things gradually, otherwise there might be too much shock to the system and I'd end up in a flare up again and remission would just be a dream away. Regards, Jude. In Remission? > Judy: In reading your list of meds, I notice you have " in remission since > Dec. 1999 " - but then your list contains RA meds including Celebrex? Guest guest
Judy: Thanks for feedback on your situation. Sure hope you can get the knee thing under control. The rest of it sounds like you're doing well (AP) - good for you!!! Babs
