Guest guest
Bev--I had an earache a couple of years ago that wound up having a lot of fluid in the outer ear (felt like I'd been swimming). Since I use Qtips in spite of gramdma's warning, I know the fluid was more like water than wax, and barely off-white in color. The GP said I had a perforation, but that it would heal itself (ever the optimist, I figured I was deaf in that side for good.) He was right, tho, about a week of antibiotic and the fluid stopped and the hearing came back. So hangeth in there, it can happen. arjay > Briarwood wrote: > > From: " Briarwood " <briarwood@...> > > Hi all, > I just got back from my weekly ear check up at the gps and he said the > hole in my ear drum isn't any smaller, but he thinks the > mould/bacterial infection is cleared up but I still have to continue > with the drops. Guest guest
Arjay, Thank you for your encouragement. My daughter is hearing impaired and wears two hearing aids and now I know how it feels to mishear conversation or completely miss it. I believe it is because of the antibiotics and I don't take a probiotic but am looking into getting one. The gp said if it doesn't heal I may have to have reconstructive surgery and my immune system may be the reason it isn't healing. But he also doesn't believe in AP but gives me Minocin because it doesn't hurt and is an anti inflam. How long did it take for your perforation to heal? Mine just feels sort of hollow sounding. I still have hearing but a lot less. Thanks again, Arjay. :>)) Bev > Bev--I had an earache a couple of years ago that wound up having a lot > of fluid in the outer ear (felt like I'd been swimming).
