Dear Rhonda,

Thank you for sharing this info. I don't know you or Dorothy, but your

story just confirms what's been going on with me.

Just this past week I've begun to open up to family and friends about my

decision to have this surgery, and I've been stunned by the level of support

I've received. Somehow I expected everyone to say I was wasting time and

money, being overly dramatic, or was just weak-willed and looking for an

easy way out. The reality, though, has been just the opposite!

So much of this journey is emotional that loving support is vital. I'm

deeply grateful for my family, friends, pcp, even the people I've been

meeting online, and also for the fact that dealing with my physical health

has helped me to be more open and honest emotionally with others. It's a

great healing time, and I haven't even had my consultation with the surgeon

yet!
