stress dosing HC for extended periods

Hi everyone

I haven't been posting for a while because of the holiday madness. I hope

everyone is doing well. I need to catch up on posts.

I am on 80 mcg of T3 and had been taking 55 mg of HC, which seemed to be the

right combination for me, although the HC does sound high. I didn't have any

side effects on it, though.

I had a bad cold in December and my adrenals got a bit weak again, so I had to

stress dose for a while at 70-75 mg of HC.

I went down rather quickly on the HC back to 55 mg then gradually started

feeling weak again, so I recently went back up on the HC to 70 mg. At first I

had a puffy face but generally felt a lot better. I started to taper after 2

days and was down to 60 mg two days ago, but got some terrible intenstinal thing

from food (or maybe just from going down on the HC?) and my adrenals are weak

again so I went back up to 70 mg today again.

My question is, is this stress-dosing really bad for me? I feel like I need to

stress dose and I feel better after I take the higher doses-less dizziness,

heart rate goes down, etc.

I can't rely on temps to diagnose myself because I take topical estrogen which

makes my temps vary a bit throughout the day. I am pre-meno, but I need the

estrogen.

I already need such a high mainenance dose of HC for my adrenal fatigue and to

handle the T3, is it damaging to stress dose like this?

I don't want to cripple my adrenals.

Thanks

Liz
