Guest guest
Hi, I've been working my way up on the T3 over the past several weeks. I switched over from 2 gr of Erfa over to 20mcg of cynomel (I have very high RT3 and lingering hypo symptoms) and have increased over the past 5 weeks up to 100mcg. I seem to be getting progressively more hypo and have found myself more fatigued and now have a return of bad tendonitis in my wrist. My am temps are around 97.5 or so. I'm wondering if I need to increase my T3 more rapidly to get rid of these hypo symptoms and how quickly I can increase the dose. I'm currently taking 25 mg of HC as well and have good ferritin and b12 levels. Thanks

I'm currently taking 25 mg of HC as well and have good ferritin and b12 levels. you can go higher, I was going up by 12.5 at a time and increasing weekly. A T3 dose stabilises after 3 days so that's the most often you should ever go up. If you go too high then drop the next dose or two and get back to your stable dose the next day. Mistakes fade away quickly. BE CAREFUL if you go over the 125 mark while waiting for resistance to clear. At around the 11 to 12 week mark you may well end up needing half what you were on the day before! If you increase to clear hypo symptoms while you have resistance then you will have to drop suddenly. If you keep the dose down and put up with hypo then you may just suddenly feel better. It depends how patient you are waiting, I wasn't!! Nick
Guest guest
Thanks Nick, I'm pretty impatient too, especially since I seem to be going backwards now instead of forwards. It's frustrating to say the least. There are times when I can't figure out how I'm feeling, hypo or hyper. I feel jittery at times and really weak and my POTS has come back too. But since most of these symptoms were around before I ever got treatment (except for the jittery part) I am assuming this is a revisiting of my hypo stuff. Could be, Jittery can also be adrenal or ferritin issues. To be hyper you must have high pulse AND high temperature. There are other ways of being on " too much T3 for you at the time " which do not involve actually being hyper.
