Guest guest
Hi Greg, After starting SCD in March, I had a pretty bad 3rd month flare that started at the end of June where I had symptoms much like you mention, so went back to intro. Improvement was infinitesimal for several weeks and really began very noticeable improvements after about 6 weeks. I did intro for about a week without eggs or dccc or grape juice. I just drank water instead of juice. I didn't do eggs for a while because of the D, and slowly added some of the phase 1 foods from the pecanbread list. When I did introduce eggs after a few weeks , it was in the form of banana pancakes. Overall, lots of chicken soup, chicken pancakes, beef patties, cooked carrots, and bananas. Just take it slow and things will get better. Peace, Geoff Crohn's/Colitis 8/99 SCD 3/
Guest guest
Thanks for the reply Geoff, Just wondering one other thing, how long did it take for the D to go away and the frequency to lighten up? greg

It depends on the disease and your individual sensitivities and the state of your bacterial colonies and how long you have had the disease and how severe it is currently. Some people firm up right away - others take quite a while to see a substantial change. The important thing is that you monitor your symptoms and determine that your symptoms are moving in the right direction - or at least there is no change. I'd try to stop the immodium, if I were you. First, I believe it is illegal and second, all it is doing is masking your symptoms. So you won't know your true state and your reaction. And to what extent the intro diet is working for you. FWIW. Unless you are taking it because it permits you to go to work. Mara
