Guest guest
The ratio we use came from Dr Holtorf. He used to use 2.0 or 20 dep0ending on how you calculate it btu now has gone a bit more conservative to 1.8 or 18 depending on how you calculate it. Yes that is a good sourcve for Cynomel and reliable, but PLEASE we do NOT post sits we order from on the group. We do this to protect those sources. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
>hi, i'm new to the list, so please forgive if my questions have been addressed in earlier posts. i've checked out the sttm and rt3 websites, but still have these remaining questions: Hello and welcome > >in dr. holtorf's interview with mary shomon, he refers to aiming for ft3/rt3 ratio of 1.8 or higher. in your postings you seem to prefer 20 or higher. why the big discrepancy? does it have something to do with how you calculate? > A matter of where the decimal point ends up. he is saying 18, Val suggests 20. there are so many options on the units that you have to move the decimal point round sometimes, >can you help me figure out my ratio(s) from the following: > >when i was on combo of 56mcg levothyroxine and 10mcg cytomel i had these numbers: >ft3: 2.2 pg/mL >rt3: 194 pg/mL 2200/194 = 11.3 > >my rt3 number has gone down since switching to 1.5 grains naturethroid and increasing to 15mcg cytomel: >ft3: 2.9 >rt3: 148 > 2900 / 148 = 19.59 Much better. Your RT3 is actually quite low, your FT3 is VERY low. It may just be you need a lot more thyroid and don't have to go T3 only. You could carry on with the 1.5 grains if you want and increase the T3 weekly and see how you feel when the FT3 is near the top of the range. Go from the 15 up to 25 of the Grossman split into quarters and taken 4 times a day. After that go up by 6.25 or 12.5 a week depending how you feel and pulse/temperature >i still feel like i'm not getting enough t3, but i've been taking the paddock generic so that could be the problem. Yes, the Grossman is significantly stronger. You are very hypo based on that FT3 >my drugstore (walgreen's) just switched to mylan, so may notice a diff. The Grossman is better still > >before discovering your site i placed an order for grossman cynomel with xxxxxxxx.com. is this a reputable site? if not, can you recommend a better source? They are good. I have blanked out the URL though as we prefer that sources are only passed on privately and not posted on the list to stop sources being shut down. > >that's all for now. > >thanks so much for providing this resource. > Good luck on your journey Nick

Guest guest
thanks so much for the detailed response nick, i really appreciate it. i’ll follow your recommendation to increase t3 slowly. i want to get my adrenals checked out first though †" do you recommend a particular test? there seem to be a lot of different choices out there that include different things, and various providers. what are the basic components I should look for in a test? any providers better than others? thanks again for all your help, and sorry about slipping the name of the cynomel website, i didn’t realize it was taboo to do so! cheers, lori > > >hi, i'm new to the list, so please forgive if my questions have been addressed in earlier posts. i've checked out the sttm and rt3 websites, but still have these remaining questions: > > Hello and welcome > > > >in dr. holtorf's interview with mary shomon, he refers to aiming for ft3/rt3 ratio of 1.8 or higher. in your postings you seem to prefer 20 or higher. why the big discrepancy? does it have something to do with how you calculate? > > > A matter of where the decimal point ends up. he is saying 18, Val > suggests 20. there are so many options on the units that you have to > move the decimal point round sometimes, > > >can you help me figure out my ratio(s) from the following: > > > >when i was on combo of 56mcg levothyroxine and 10mcg cytomel i had these numbers: > >ft3: 2.2 pg/mL > >rt3: 194 pg/mL > > 2200/194 = 11.3 > > > >my rt3 number has gone down since switching to 1.5 grains naturethroid and increasing to 15mcg cytomel: > >ft3: 2.9 > >rt3: 148 > > > 2900 / 148 = 19.59 > > Much better. > > Your RT3 is actually quite low, your FT3 is VERY low. It's a " 4 sample saliva test " that you need. Val may be able to give you specific labs, if not the STTM site has recommendations. I'm in the UK so out of touch with US labs Nick
