Hi everybody,

I'm going to phase out my microwave. It's excellent timing since the

one I have is falling apart. I don't know what I'm going to do without

it though. I've had one my entire life!

i went without for years, it's not that difficult.

I'll be fine when I'm at home but how do y'all reheat food when you're

away from home? I always take leftovers to work for lunch. We only have

a microwave there and there isn't room for anything else. I doubt they

would let me bring a toaster oven even if there were room. The building

people are pretty strict on things that could start a fire.

ask about the toaster oven. or, bring food that doesn't require heat.

i eat a "heat free" scd friendly lunch daily: fruit, veggies, meat,

cheese, nuts, water, tea.

When I have soup, I could do the thermos thing but I don't always eat

soup and really don't want to be forced to eat soup everyday. And I

don't want cold food (sandwich wraps, salad, etc) all the time.

Also, is it safe to have food unrefrigerated for that long? The soup in

the thermos for instance. I leave the house around 4:45 in the morning

and eat lunch around 11:00.

you can leave food unrefrigerated for hours, it'll be fine. most food

doesn't require constant refrigeration, it only requires it after "some

time." 5-6 hours should be no problem. i make my son's lunch at 6am

and it's eaten at 12:30; turkey sandwich and all unrefrigerated for

hours.
