Guest guest
Hi everybody,I'm going to phase out my microwave. It's excellent timing since the one I have is falling apart. I don't know what I'm going to do without it though. I've had one my entire life! I'll be fine when I'm at home but how do y'all reheat food when you're away from home? I always take leftovers to work for lunch. We only have a microwave there and there isn't room for anything else. I doubt they would let me bring a toaster oven even if there were room. The building people are pretty strict on things that could start a fire. When I have soup, I could do the thermos thing but I don't always eat soup and really don't want to be forced to eat soup everyday. And I don't want cold food (sandwich wraps, salad, etc) all the time. Also, is it safe to have food unrefrigerated for that long? The soup in the thermos for instance. I leave the house around 4:45 in the morning and eat lunch around 11:00.Thanks,Kim H.husband, , CD 1999, SCD 2002
Guest guest
get a stainless steel thermos ( or several of them as I do) ...preheat them with hottest tap water a few minutes ...empty out the water, put in the hot food, seal ...usually 4 or 5 hours later it's still hot enough I need to blow on it before eating!) hth, gisele
