Guest guest
> 1. For those of you who researched and looked into the Roux en Y > procedure, what made you decide to have DS over Roux en Y??? The main thing for me was that I wanted to keep a normal functioning stomach and avoid the " pouch " and all the myriad of problems that are potentially associated with it, such as dumping syndrome, marginal ulcers, blockages and strictures. These are problems that can occur lifelong after RNY to varying degrees, and that didn't appeal to me after I saw the DS option and how it completely avoids the pouch. > 2. For me, it's the same, but I get filled up on much less food. Other people say that they didn't have satiety signals before surgery, and that after surgery, they do. This seems pretty universal. > 3. Not a biggie, but it's a fact of life now. > 4. I'm so glad you found out about the DS *now* and not after you'd already had something else! Take you time, learn all you can, so that you can go into you WLS *knowing* you've made the RIGHT choice for yourself. Feel free to ask if I can help further! Welcome to the list!
