Guest guest
Dana,I hate to say it, but I'm kind of glad that there's someone else in this group with acid reflux! I thought that when I went SCD, that would prevent the reflux, but it doesn't for me. Even with SCD, I do have to avoid eating too much in one sitting. Avoiding tomatoes and fried foods/greasy foods and chocolate and alcohol are huge too. I never drank coffee so that was never an issue for me, but that's something to avoid as well. Don't eat too much cheese at once or too much fatty stuff.I am finding too that even with SCD, any kind of stress sets off my acid reflux and even bending over in the evening (ie. like when I'm giving my kids a bath) can bring it on. Although this may be illegal (I'm not sure), my alternative health doc recommended licorice DGL. I hope all your tests came back okay and that you have no damage. Guest guest
Hello: I've had GERDS all my life and have been on the diet for 8 months. I found the diet to be a tremendous help for my acid reflux. This problem is very much linked to our intestinal issues. Weak coffee is fine for me but I have to avoid fried foods. Also, rich food gives heartburn. You have to slowly work your way up to more fatty yogurt, but start with 2% milk. I can have fresh tomatoes but can't do the juice at all. I have to take it easy on the spices too. Hang in there, It gets so much easier ) GERDS and chronic C SCD 8 months ********* I thought that when I went SCD, that would prevent the reflux, but it doesn't for me.
